Evans Mapfumo is a Zimbabwean singer-songwriter, guitarist, and music teacher based in Chitungwiza, Harare Province, Zimbabwe. Known for his rich African sound and captivating live performances, Evans has built a unique musical identity that bridges traditional Zimbabwean heritage with modern world music influences.

With a deep passion for preserving African culture through music, Evans combines the spiritual and rhythmic sounds of Mbira and Marimba with acoustic guitar arrangements and contemporary instrumentation. His music delivers meaningful messages centered on hope, love, peace, unity, humility, and African identity.

Evans is supported by the dynamic Kiat Afrika Band, a musical collective he founded in South Africa in 2009. Together, they have become known for energetic stage performances that celebrate Zimbabwe’s cultural diversity through music, dance, rhythm, and storytelling.
